Special applications such as the testing of large traveling wave tubes (TWTs) can be addressed with the flexibility of our multi-zone thermal platform systems. Each zone can be independently heated and cooled or the entire thermal platform can be controlled as a single zone. For example, the T600 6-3/4" X 26-1/4" thermal platform has four (4) identical zones. Each zone can be controlled individually or one zone can be controlled independently of the other 3 zones etc. This is very effective in the test of TWTs as the collector end of the tube dissipates considerably more heat than the rest of the tube. The multi-zone approach allows uniform temperatures over the entire length of the TWT.
